Idea of providing basic income as entitlement is principally against notion of incentive model of motivating someone to work. A person only get paid when it produce something. Take MGNREGA for example, a lot of activities are done which does not create permanent assets. But govt. decided to make a scheme where a person get paid only when some work is done and not simply as an entitlement.
